12. thanks for the link. It's funny; I started watching the pressers to see McClellan
squirm and lie badly. Now, there's actual information, depending on the questions.

13. Now we can watch Chuck Todd squirm and lie badly.
Well, actlually, he lies fairly well.

16. I do not understand why Todd is supposed to be such hot shit.
Smug little brown noser, lacking empathy and a sense of the big picture. He strikes me as the type willing to spout talking points all day long without realizing that policies affect people.

3. Salazar speaking now about ethical lapses of previous administrations and how he will
investigate and handle these scandals from the past. He will take questions then Gibbs will speak.

15. He is doing poorly, again.
Shades of Scottie McLellan on the issue of lobbying reform. Point blank could not answer on the issue of Geithner's aide working for Goldman Sachs.

20. That Geithner's chief of staff is an exception to the rule because
he is an extremely talented individual who can do things that other candidates could not. If we can't get this kind of talent, the economy will not get back on track. Since the economy is President Obama's biggest concern right now, we made an exception for one person. An exception to the rule validates adherence to the rule.

Gibbs was sweating like a guy who got caught cheating on his wife, or toe tapping in the airport.

18. Not true.
He DID answer the question. He said this WH has the strictest rules against lobbyists/lobbying and the couple waivers given are to people who are extremely qualified in their positions and even they aren't allowed to lobby if they leave the admin.

He's doing a great job, and his style is very different from the press secretaries of the past eight years.

23. Exactly...
he's no smooth-talking but lying Tony Snow and he's no out-of-the-loop mumbler like Scott McClellan. He is telling the truth.

25. Those guys--and Ari--used to just refer reporters to somebody
else to avoid answering questions. Gibbs is more respectful and very thorough.

People may wish he was smoother in his style, but he IS being honest. He's also getting better in his delivery from his first day.

I like Gibbs, but think he needs to come across more forceful, assertive and definately not give way to those whores!

26. I don't see him giving way. It's more like the press is annoying little yip-yip dogs
or kids who will ask you for something over and over and over again, hoping to wear you down, and Gibbs isn't wearing down. To me, the calmer he is, the more he sticks to providing information instead of confrontation, the dumber their insistence on repeating bullshit questions looks.

24. Totally disagree. He explained more than 3 times that their new ethics laws
and expectations are more expansive than any the city of DC or that room had ever seen, but that there would have to be some leeway given for specific circumstances where individuals would not effectively be able to do their job if held 100% to the standards. Yes, that may seem as if they are compromising a bit, they are, but the overall changes are such a great leap from where things were at, that I, as well as many others I would believe, agree that this new system is for the best.

He needs to more effectively end dialogue when the reporters take the reigns of the back and forth. He is trying to be nice and accommodating by answering every follow-up, but he would be more effective in not doing so and just moving on after concluding with a strong statement.
