AP working hard against New Prez- Headline: Billions more needed for financial rescue

Billions more needed for financial rescue
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090129/ap_on_bi_ge/meltdown_what_s_next

Please read and let me know if you can locate any White House officials or other sources in the know
making any statements here that would preclude additional billions. If you find them, please post them, cause I couldn't!

And then ask yourself why is this story being written, with no corroborating sources
emanating from the White House?

My feelings is that AP, like the Moonie Times and the WSJ are orchestrating a campaign to have the public start mistrusting Pres. Obama before the Stimulus Package is even passed in the Senate. It makes the Republicans look better for voting against it yesterday, as it makes the public nervous that more Billions are being discussed. This is quite transparent, IMO.

1. I think that will help with the
TARP negotiations.

2. Kramer (cnbc) says stimulus is only 1/10 of needs
He says he likes the Obama plan for infrastructure repair, but says this current stimulus plan has little of anything to create long term jobs. He said that Singapore is putting more into their bailout plan than the U.S. is putting into ours. Also said that use of steel is lacking in our stimulus and that the current plan would be used up by one major U.S. city. He believes our politicians are grossly underestimating the severity of the crisis. All this talk is making me think a genuine Depression is looming. Kramer may not know crap, but then again...I know I don't know jack.

3. Economists say he needs more $$$, the Rs say less, and I suspect the Democrats
will decide the amount that's just right a la Goldilocks.

4. Krugman says more is needed. The more people say it is needed, the more the President will get.
And he'll need it.

Vocal opinion and headlines will help silence the GOP.

8. Say, you know something?
What if you're right?

You may be right. I think we are in the Twilight Zone. The banks know the government has to make good on their deposits anyway. Some of them are taking bailout money just because it's there. :banghead: Instead of replacing bridges near collapse, grrrrr, gnashing of teeth.

6. enormous shift
There has been a tremendous shift and there is a clear double standard between how the press deferred to Bush and how they are now going after Obama. I am surprised that more people here are not talking about that.

That being said, I think we best support the President by encouraging him (criticizing, pouting, whining, whatever) to abandon compromising with the opposition and being bipartisan and moving to the center. As I have said for months, the administration moving to the Left and the administration being successful are one and the same. Just watch.

The AP Charmain likened Obama to a terrorist while McCain was treated to coffee and doughnuts.

10. AP = Neocon Mouthpiece.
Not a new development.

As for the stimulus. It is my personal opinion after reading and listening a lot over the past several weeks, that more is needed. The package that will pass is not enough.
