They are talking about how magnanimous Obama has been in reaching out... that more jobs have been lost, etc, and that despite Obama's efforts, repubs continue to be partisan and want more tax cuts and less spending which is the opposite of what liberal and conservative economists are calling for...

ABC's little report on my local news started off talking about all the lay offs, then said that not one republican voted for the stimulus bill... despite an unprecedented attempt at bipartisanship by the president...

I think this will not end well for the republicans.. Just mho

2. Our local news in Raleigh called it Big Victory for Obama - showed a clip of Pelosi -
then said not one Republic voted for it. So as long as they didn't get Rush's talking points and are still reporting "news", we should be fine!

3. This is what makes me happy about getting old.
I've seen this before. It's probably been mentioned more than once that this vote has strong historical parallels with the stimulus bill of 1993, which was passed without a single Republican vote and which led to seven years of peace and prosperity.

However, the Clinton Administration and Congressional Democrats did not effectively capitalize on that victory, and soon lost control of Congress. Bill Clinton was forced to become the greatest Republican President since Teddy Roosevelt.

So I hope that President Obama will play things a little differently than President Clinton did, and your report seems to suggest that he is doing that.

5. I see MSM putting a spin on this.
As long as your not a crook like Bush or McCain, why shouldn't lending someone 5 bucks work over nothing? Crooks don't have accountability. Obama does and will. http://recovery.gov/

6. That is why it was amusing me that people were saying this was a huge loss for Obama.
I was thinking - may all of Obama's losses be so tragic i.e. he gets what he wanted but the Republicans didn't support it and look like dicks doing that. Oh, the horror!
