Erin Burnett's her name. The economy for these people is Wall Street, period.

1. Erin Burnett is hot
but she's a little short upstairs.

BTW, she got in trouble for saying Chimp looked like a chimp.

3. Erin won't bother to let you know the effect corporate tax rate for the U.S. is near the bottom--25%
They don't pay the 35% rate because of all the loopholes in our tax system.

5. Well, there are rates below 35%
C corporations have tax brackets just like individuals. I can see where the effective rate could be 25% for many companies not making as much money.

4. all of the CNBC people who I have seen
Edited on Thu Jan-29-09 03:49 PM by ErinBerin84
(Though, I heard Jim Cramer is on the "it's not big enough" wagon) are bashing Obama's plan and propping up the Repukes....Erin said some "Obama is protectionist and it's gonna kill us!" bs the other day on Morning Joe. And, just to add to the post below me....she's not the official Money Honey, but I personally don't find her to be too bright of a bulb on the MTP panels/Morning Joe, though I do not watch her directly on CNBC too often....maybe she's better on there. She has nice hair, I'll give her that. No one could be worse than Maria.

11. I've had enough of that protectionist crap. Damn right if we invest in infratructure
Every damn piece of material should be American made. This is just another way to bash the unions.

6. There is only one "money honey" -- Maria Bartaromo
Since Erin Burnett is wicked smart I wouldn't hang the derisive "honey" tag on her.

She's not always right, but she's not mere fluff.

Bartaromo, on the other hand, is a turd wrapped in silk and in a race with Glen Beck for most absurd person on cable.

13. More than Bill-O, Hannity, Beck, Dobbs....
she may have her very lame moments, but I think "most absurd and annoying person on cable" belongs to one of the above.

But maybe this is just a given...

14. Yeah. I guess I was unfair to her
Shes not as annoying as they are. But shes like the annoying little at the playground. I use to like her on NBC weekend show. Since she got her own show, she just acts like she has to be so negative towards Democrats.

8. It's not surprising at all...she's a Friedmanite ideologue of the highest order
If she's not complaining about regulation, she's pitching the most discredited nonsense of the capitalist bankers, or trashing any proposition put forth by labor. She's a fucking flack, and nothing more.

12. The Folks at CNBC Don't Know Any Working Class People
They were not raised by working class people. They've never worked a working class job, except for maybe a summer job as a teen. They don't know what it's like to be worried about not making the rent/mortgage, not having healthcare, not being able to feed their kids. IOW, they are completely disconnected from the every day reality of American working life. They look at the economy from the top down. They believe that whatever is good for their Wall Street brethren is good for everybody else.

A capital gains tax cut would only accelerate selling and increase speculation because people would be able to wheel in and out of a position without paying any penalties. Drive a stock up in the morning and sell it off in the evening, all at no cost. Rampant speculation in housing is the prime reason why we're in this economic decline today.

16. Anyone ever notice how Erin cannot talk TO the camera.
She always has to look down at her papers, or look around. She cannot complete a sentence looking AT the camera. WTF?

She's very cute, but she reminds me of Phifel.
