Republicans in Congress and how Obama deals
---

What are they trying to prove?
Where are their ideas beyond tax cuts for the wealthy?

Obama has played them brilliantly.
Reaching out, meeting with them, compromising, and now not even a single vote for the Recovery and Reinvestment Act. They look bad...real bad.

The media is now pointing this out. How Obama is so much more communicative with the other side of the aisle then Bush and the Repubs ever were. They are asking the Republicans what their ideas are now and getting tired old tax cut rhetoric.

Just like the Clintons took the bait during the primaries so too have the Red State Repubs in Congress.
Fuck with Obama and you get burned.
He is just what the Democratic Party needs at this time in order to deal with the knee-jerk Repubs in Congress...an intelligent leader who twists the knife with a smile.

GOBAMA!!!

1. no kidding. it is awesome to behold. They're going "uggh. now I know how McCain felt"
BAHAHAHHAHHAAH!!!!! I LOVE having a CREDIBLE and HONORABLE leader in the Oval Office again. Suit Jacket or No.

I was telling people this whole "taking on Rush directly" gambit was carefully planned. They are trying to eviscerate the opposition and GOOD.

FOrtunately for them, Rush is helping quite admirably. The "I want the President to FAIL". is pure comedy gold.

3. the GOP is still so calcified and used to power, they just read off the cue cards
for any given situation. It's like football. If you're that predictable in every situation, the opponent is going to use it to their advantage.

This is what President Obama is doing. He will hoist them up on their own petard of idealogically/politically motivated insolence and recalcitrance.

4. It all depends on if the dems put more of the good stuff back in the
stimulus plan. If not, it seems to me it's all a game. Cutting the infrastructure spending and increasing tax breaks to the rich isn't making me happy.

We will have to see if the dems have the guts to change the bill back.
