2. I'm certainly no fan of Thomas

but in fairness, it's quite possible that he has sleep apnea. I have it, and before I got a CPAP, I would often nod off, no matter what I did to try to stop it. Sleep apnea creates a situation where you never really get into deep sleep. Instead, you briefly wake several times an hour (sometimes 50-100 times) and you go through life totally sleep deprived, and not really knowing it.

3. He should resign if he has sleep apnea. He needs to be awake to hear all of the case.

Not just what he hears when he is awake.
