3. Oh, haven't you heard? This will only create 'work,' not jobs,
Change takes time, maybe two or three years, perhaps. I wonder how many will be dead by then?

6. Persons unknown channeling it through the Republican National Lawyers Assn.
At least that's what the Democratic-Farm-Labor Party is charging. And I can believe it -- especially since Coleman's lawyer is Ben Ginsburg, who formerly played a major role in the 2000 Florida recount, in which the RNLA was also deeply involved.

Coleman is also tangled up with the DCI Group/FLS Direct (which has its own ties to Ginsburg, by way of his role in 2004 with the Swift Boat Veterans and Progress for America -- and which is also tight with Karl Rove) and through them to the Chamber of Commerce. In fact, he's probably the most "connected" of this year's Senate candidates in that sense. So there's no lack of interested parties who could be plowing money into the litigation.

9. Simple -- no money for Minnesota until they seat Franken. Period.
And no new senators seated until the Franken issue is resolved.

10. We should not blame Minnesota for the actions of Coleman
Edited on Mon Feb-09-09 02:13 AM by TheBigotBasher
however he will continue this until the next round of elections if he can. As is pointed out he also has an endless stream of money.

On the positive side - I guess there is no recession for election lawyers.

11. I'm not blaming Minnesota -- just creating an incentive for people to act

Just like when your boss doesn't pay you for not showing up at work -- he's not blaming you, just trying to create an incentive to show up.

12. Oh please, this doesn't boil down to one single Senator
What, can't Reid, Pelosi, Obama and other Democratic leaders play hard ball? Hell, back when the 'Pugs were in this position they managed to ram through their agenda without compromise. How did they do this? Oh, yeah, they were street fighters, ready to fight dirty and kneecap people if need be to get their way. Hell, back in the good ol' days, leaders like LBJ knew how to do this also. But somewhere between now and then the Democrats have lost either their taste or talent for street fighting, and now are reduced to compromising away all their best programs to get a modicum passed. Fucking pathetic.
