If your CBS station is bumping Rather-Knox for stupid movie, check in
Edited on Wed Sep-15-04 07:08 PM by boloboffin
Let's find out how wide the problem is:

I'm in Nashville, Tennessee.

UPDATE: Okay, this movie deal has been in the works for a while.

http://www.lfomovie.com

It's a Billy Graham Ministries movie, and according to the BGM website, they sponsor programs like this all the time when they're rolling out a new movie.

Because they're straight to DVD movies. They can't get distributors, but they can buy some time on local stations and run the film right before putting it on sale (Sept. 24th in this case).

It's just a crying shame, and the problem is pretty wide spread, it looks like.

Keep checking in, though.

22. You're right ... I found it on their website. But I'm furious
that they opted to run reruns rather than show one of the rare hard-hitting news stories of the year... :grr:

No, I'm kidding.

But that one little snippet of interview on the Evening News was pretty sweet. Little old lady, my *ss. That's a lady cut out of the same Texas cloth as Ann Richards. Credibility beyond measure...

And lots of the country doesn't even get a chance to see it...

Gahh...

7. central Illinois
The CBS Evening news took a dump here right after the Hurricane Ivan lead story, while all other channels remained up and fine. at 6 pm, immediately after the network news, magically, the cbs channel came back up. Now we have the "Last Flight Out" movie, while 60 minutes supposedly will be broadcast at 1:30 A.M later tonight(early tomorrow morning)

so we get both Tulsa and OKC. This happened last time also. What's up with this? OKC and Tulsa stations are owned by the same company I believe.

It was a FANTASTIC segment

14. Orlando, Florida NOT Showing 60 Minutes
The "movie" is on. My wife is beside herself with anger at CBS. It sounds like the people upstairs are taking this story a little differently than the courageous news department. Oh, well, at least Olberman showed (what I take to be) clips from the Dan Rather interview with the secretary. She made it delightfully clear that the substance of the memos are quite correct. This moment was only surpassed by hearing Carl Bernstein call Bush a "shirker."

19. Thats odd
I called (channel 6, right?) and they said it ran. I just saw Bernstein on Hannity and he was driving crooked head crazy by repeatedly saying bush was a shirker. haha

24. WKMG in Orlando DID show 60 minutes. I watched it.
It came on at 8:00 pm. They ran a blurb at the bottom that the movie would start at 9:00.

27. Looks like some stations sold the spot a while back
http://www.billygraham.org/TV_Index.asp

This is a listing of all the stations that are airing it, and the dates of airing. Last night was in the works for some time, before '60 Minutes' became a huge story.

Some of the stations pre-empting this put disclaimers on their website stating that 60M would be rebroadcast.

I won't fault the stations that pre-empted for this movie, since contracts are contracts, and they had their hands tied anyway. But for stations that, say, pre-empted 60M for, say, 'King of Queens' reruns, that is a blatant act of partisanship, and they should be contacted.
