Latest MSM BS Story: Obama vs. Las Vegas

I'm watching the CNN stream where the issue of how the Vegas mayor wants an apology from Obama because Vegas was mentioned as "bad thing" with bankers and such going on conferences at extravagant prices... blah, blah, blah...

First of all, companies are now avoiding Las Vegas for conferences due to the "sleaze factor" and are rescheduling events in San Francisco, LA and New York City. You can have just about anything you want in those cities that Vegas offers, without the tag of sounding like you're going on a gambling/hooker/drinking binge.

I've been to Vegas and it's obvious that even the tagline "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" means you can "let your hair down" and wink, wink, nudge, nudge, have a good time and return to Peoria with a zip in your step. Even Vegas ads protray such marketing and branding messages.

So Obama should apologize to the Vegas mayor for pointing out that bankers would go to Vegas and perhaps maybe it's his fault that Vegas has hot hard times (like everywhere else)?

My apologies to those in Vegas reading this and thinking I'm trashing the town. I'm not. But it has been the notion that you go to Vegas not for the suburban sprawl, hot weather, people watching and to see has-beens performing in bizarre-looking buildings... but to gamble, drink and chase a little of the you-know-what.

So now the same banking folks will go to San Francisco and check out the dancing ladies in North Beach or New York City and see some exclusive entertainment around Times Square.

The mayor of Vegas needs to get over it... and Obama doesn't need to apologize either.

as McCaskill suggested. Or in more expensive areas like San Fran/NY, but tone down the extravagance. Taxpayers should not be footing the bill for $300/night hotel rooms and cheesy gondola rides in Vegas.

Same old song and dance. Obama has a white male problem, Obama has a woman problem, Obama has a pastor problem. Always chattering always calling for an apology. One trick ponies our corporate media are.

The taxpayer money was the problem, not Las Vegas. The mayor needs to learn comprehension or something.

but they are only reporting what the outspoken mayor of Las Vegas said. Of course the mayor was wrong! What President Obama said quite clearly was that taxpayer money shouldn't be used to pay for trips to Las Vegas.

Or the fact that from watching CSI one might get the impression that there is an inordinately high level of bizarre crime happening in Vegas.
Why have they not kicked Hollywood out for their negative portrayal of Vegas as a crime laden city?
