A video grab shows the results of the Senate vote on a $787 billion stimulus bill being read in Washington February 13, 2009. The U.S. Congress, handing President Barack Obama a major legislative victory, approved on Friday the $787 billion stimulus bill that aims to rush emergency government spending and tax cuts to a nation in the grip of a severe recession. The Senate cast the final vote, 60-38, hours after the House of Representatives passed an identical bill, 246-183.

1. They did it!

Obama got the bill, largely how he wanted it, by the time he wanted it.

The obstructionist, anti-American pukes look weak and dying.

2. BIG WIN for Obama is what the public will "get"

and that was going to be the case the whole time...some people just refused to get on board and be seen as a constructive part of the process

3. Huge win for the President just 3 weeks into the job!

I am absolutely thrilled that only 3 Republicans voted for it because now they won't be able to take any credit. Plus, it emboldens the 3 moderate GOPers which only makes the radical right look like obstructionists who don't know shit about the economy, or don't care.

4. Actually he doesn't become President for another 196 days

see Bush "had only been in office 8 months" on September 11 or as Condi was sent out to frame it for about a week and a half "222 Days"

Imagine what this guy might be able to do when he finally actually gets to be PRESIDENT!!!
