be categorized as "liberal" or "conservative"?

as Republican or Democratic?

as red or blue?

as left or right?

Can't a good idea simply be a good idea in reference to history, not to ideology?

Are we really this small-minded - this petulant - that we can't let one thing go without exercising our essentialist impulses?

Pull out your check lists, folks - let's start categorizing!

This is bunk.
