Why Isn't Tomorrow's Speech Called the State of the Union?
I was looking forward to his first State of the Union speech.

long enough to have formed an opinion on the state of our union? Heh. I think that's the thinking, but it really is going to be a SOTU speech.

Has something to do with tradition?

Edit to add: SOTU is a constitutionally-required address, per m$nbc, but not in the first year. So, this is just a howdy do to Congress tomorrow. :D

4. He's only been in office a month, thats why.
Having said that. It could be a State of the Union if you consider he's already done more in a month than some have done in a yr
