1. What about the pickle face?
Or whatever you guys call her. She was mostly invisible.

2. That was "Pickles" she was the wife of Barney Flintstone...
from the old Flintstones cartoon series of the 60's

People called her that because she was weak and got bossed around by her husband that was always doing stupid things, and she was actually smarter than her hubby, but not by too much.

"you guys"?

Oh well. I'm off to the supermarket, and had forgotten to put pickles on my shopping list, so thanks for the reminder.

8. "Pickles" had a surpringly low number. I say surprisingly
because the media told us almost daily how much we all loved her. To be fair, her numbers were probably low because of the low way in which her husband became President in 2000.

Polls conducted just before their husbands assumed office also showed about 3 in 10 offering a favorable opinion of Laura Bush, and a third with a positive view of Barbara Bush. Nearly all of the rest had no opinion yet.

6. I find it strange that people would tell a pollster they have an unfavorable view of a first lady.
Even as I dislike George W. Bush, I can't say I had much of an opinion of Laura Bush either way for the past 8 years. It's not like she was in there with Rice and Rummy planning the war. So I'm not sure why someone would dislike Michelle Obama. If she doesn't appeal to you as a person, fine, but to dislike someone for that reason?

10. Pickles killed a guy, and was married to a war criminal. That's
reason enough for me not to like her.

11. Plus she spent most of his presidency
Edited on Mon Feb-23-09 09:24 PM by RFKHumphreyObama
Making vapid, intellectually vacant and dishonest statements that made her sound like a stupid Stepford out of touch with reality. Which perhaps she was

13. I was fairly neutral on her until
the '04 campaign when she made some asinine comments indicating that she believed what the Smear Boat Veterans did to Kerry was fair b/c her dear hubby had also been attacked politically. I know I'm a bit biased, but I can't think of *any* attacks on Bush that compared to what those guys did to Kerry.

Oh yeah, and she does kind of resemble the Joker. Not that there's anything wrong with that... haha

14. Cool. I'm actually a bit surprised...
I figured her unfavorables would be higher due to FReeper-types holding those, "For the first time in my adult life, I'm proud of my country," comments (and some of the other (unsubstantiated) bullshit) against her, or just being generally anti-Obama.
