Jewish Leaders Blast Hillary CLinton, Imply She is Two-Faced
NEW YORK (CBS) ― (Excerpt)

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton speaks to members and guests of the Asia Society Feb. 13, 2009, in New York City. Secretary Clinton's speech was made ahead of her first official trip to the East Asian countries.
In a swift about face from her views as New York's senator, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is now hammering Israel over its treatment of Palestinians in Gaza.

As First Lady, Clinton raised eyebrows when she kissed Suha Arafat.

Since she was then seeking a Senate seat the resulting brouhaha caused her to "re-think" her positions.

"I'm a very strong supporter of Israel," Clinton said back in February 2000.

On Thursday, as Secretary of State she had yet another about face in the form of angry messages demanding Israel speed up aid to Gaza. Jewish leaders are furious.

"I am very surprised, frankly, at this statement from the United States government and from the secretary of state," said Mortimer Zuckerman, publisher of the New York Daily News and member of the NYC Jewish Community Relations Council.

"I liked her a lot more as a senator from New York," Assemblyman Dov Hikind, D-Brooklyn, said. "Now, I wonder as I used to wonder who the real Hillary Clinton is."

1. Is it possible to be a strong supporter of Israel and feel compassion for Palistinians?

17. Exacatly. Biden has been a strong supporter of Israel as well
but Israel has just gone too far too many times and even their supporters realize it.

3. So fairness equals being two faced?
One of the ways this conflict will be solved is if both sides get fair treatment as far as diplomacy.

It's a pity that some are seeing it as a betrayal of Hillary's support for Israel.

24. The Israeli right wing put a lot of money into Hillary's campaign last year
They were probably hoping she would take their side as Secretary of State. While I'll be the first to say that I didn't care much for Senator or candidate Hillary (let alone DLC "leader" Hillary) I'll applaud her for taking a more balanced approach as SOS.

And fuck what Mort Zuckerman or Haim Saban think about it.

and that is how they want the rest of the world to view the situation too; they also believe they are the apple of the eye of America.

Israel needs a good tongue lashing and put in check and what they do to the Palestinians is not acceptable. Is Hamas any less guilty? Not at all, but Israel thinks that their military actions are right, but it is always excessive force.

The best solution is a two state solution with neither controlling Jerusalem. To begin with, the land Israel is taking does not belong to them, it is an illegal annexation that no one seems to want to talk about.

How dare HRC try to make peace with other countries of the region. Does she not know to kiss Israels ass!:sarcasm:

35. The only thing that keeps me raising my eyebrows is why should the U.S. spend $900 m or b on Gaza
when or if Israel does not have the same commitment.

If our weapons supplied the means to destroy that city, then I want to know why the people who in fact destroyed the city don't take on an equal or greater financial burden for the destruction.

Whether or not HRC is two faced is besides the point.

36. There will never be peace in the Middle East.
At least not until one side or the other wins. Look at
history there has never been peace until one side wins and the
other accepts defeat, assimilates, and then peace ensues.

After all, what sovereign nation DOESN'T have another nation in total control over all flow of material, capital, and people across their borders??
