Obama heads to Transportation Dept. to push agenda
http://www.mercurynews.com/politics/ci_11824937

President Barack Obama plans to drop by the Transportation Department to tell workers there how they will benefit from the economic stimulus package already signed into law.

With the visit Tuesday morning, Obama is expected to talk about how the legislation will help build bridges, repair roads and pump billions of dollars into the struggling U.S. economy.

It's also a chance for the president to remind the American people that billions of dollars are on their way from Washington.

Obama's stimulus package provides some $48 billion for infrastructure projects. States and cities now are competing for their piece of the shovel-ready budget.
