G.O.P. Turns Sights on Obama (Taking the gloves off)
http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/03/04/gop-turns-sights-on-obama/

So much for that Republican strategy.

After weeks of aiming most of their opprobrium at Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with an occasional shot at Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader, House Republicans have been given the green light to go after President Obama’s budget and the chief executive himself.

At a private gathering of House Republicans this morning, Representative John A. Boehner of Ohio, the party leader, told his colleagues they should feel free to take on the president over his budget. Mr. Boehner, according to aides, said that “triangulation” – the approach of trying to divide House Democrats and the White House – was over since the budget was clearly imprinted with Mr. Obama’s name, not the speaker’s.

As word trickled out of the Republican meeting, Democrats were amused by the change in tone. One member of the leadership said it appeared to give them the matchup they wanted: Rush Limbaugh versus Barack Obama. They also believe Republicans risk alienating independent voters by attacking the president since Mr. Obama has made such a strong effort to consult with them.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

2. They are so lost! Flailing about trying to figure out what will work.
They own the MSM so they may get a bit of traction from their new efforts. However, the President has very good approval ratings so they may want to rethink this approach.

3. A real crime in this is the Republicans are getting paid for being nothing but obstructionists.
Think about it - they are elected to actually go to Washington and do something productive for their constituents. As far as I can tell, House and Senate Republicans are not actually working, but collecting salaries.

I think they should all be laid off!

14. Their jobs should be outsourced!!
To regular citizens. Or maybe high school students as a civics lesson.
Or India, just to show them how it feels.

6. Good. Hopefully that means Obama will now stop wasting time
"reaching across the aisle" and start treating them like the worthless obstructionists with nothing to offer they are.

7. And, this is for all those
who thought it was useless for Obama to reach out to the republicans and even talked about it in his Inaugural Address knowing they would probably bite his hand.

10. They gonna just go with the N-word now?
They've pretty much tried everything else.

The republic party now ranks LAST in America:

Dems 38%
Indys 29%
republics 28%

Someone forgot to tell the republics the news.

12. Rovian strategy was always to attack the opponent's strength.
The "other guy" is a war hero? Swift boat him.

The other guy is smart? Make him seem like he's deranged.

Right now, Obama's popularity is certainly the strength of the Democratic Party.

I think Obama and the Dems are in the process of letting the repukes up off the mat when they lay there helpless and could have been eliminated altogether.

The centrists in the Democratic Party MUST defend the current two-party system and ensure that the repukes survive. The ultra-extremist repukes have already marginalized themselves. But if the repukes become any more irrelevant than they are, the move to create a "third" party (actually a new second party) will take serious root. The result? Not "liberal" Democratic Party and a new "conservative" party, but rather a more conservative Democratic Party and AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS new actual liberal party. This must be avoided at all costs.

A true Social Democrat or Labor movement in the US is the greatest threat of all to the status quo, the preservation of which is Job One for Obama and the "democrats." They NEED the repukes.

13. It has not yet dawned upon these goomers that every time they do
the "obstructionist shtick", they drop another 2 pt's in the views Americans have of them. Boehner is a prime example, opens his mouth, drop in #'s.

These don't sound like adults, they sound like little children who lost a game and now are whining because "the rules aren't fair". These are the same people who locked out D's from meetings while they looted the Treasury.

To those lurking R's, let me put you to this as simply as I can....Your party lost because the American people rejected your "ideas". It is that simple. People got sick and tired of watching our nation being destroyed.

Stick with the same policies...in 2010, you will lose more seats, (thankfully). An idea, once you've dug your grave, put down the shovel.

This is the USA, not the GOP, you people simply suck.

:wtf:

Scared of Boehner, McConnell, Palin, Jindal, "Joe The Plumber", Limbaugh, et. al?????

Ummm......yeah, right. Obama SHOULD be scared of them coming after HIM - instead of Pelosi and Reid!

:silly:
