Lindsey Graham just said, "The President has ... told us a lot about who he is and it's scary!"
Full quote on Meet the Press:

"I think the President has, quite frankly, in his budget told us a lot about who he is and what he believes and it's scary."

Neither David Gregory nor Chuck Schumer seemed to catch it.

Certainly, people can have policy differences with the President. But what in the hell does Graham mean by "he told us about who he is and it's scary?"

Someone needs to call Graham on this and make him explain what exactly about President Obama's budget makes him frightened of Othe President himself. Why, exactly, would he say on national television that President Obama - not President Obama's policies, but President Obama himself - is "scary?"

Of course, I'm pretty sure I know why. But someone needs to make him say it or back off of the comment.

2. Oh yeah
because to me Graham is yelling "Scary black man!" at the top of his lungs. Fortunately, I think a majority of Americans aren't seeing the budget and stimulus package as scary--the openness and accountability is comforting instead.

3. I'd have more respect for him if he yelled it at the top of his lungs. Instead, he's sneakily
slipping it in to his comments, like a subliminal dog whistle.

Obama? Scary?

Don't forget, folks - the worst thing for a conservative is change. Even if it is change for the better - because they could never admit that it is better. They are just not wired that way.

22. You forget. Obama
has destroyed the economy. That is a fairly accurate portrayal of what Gingrich said. Graham was bad enough. It was sickening. No one challenged what they said. This was as good as admitting they were right.

14. Want scary? How about 7 years and $77 million to investigate a blow job?
Or taking a "walking tour" w/ John McCain & Rep. Mike Pence of Baghdad guarded by
troops and helicopters of a market to show how great things are going in Iraq ... and
what happened? 27 of the merchants were shot the next as collaborators and the
elementary school next to the market was bombed killing a bunch of students.

Or having Mrs. Alito run from a senate hearing on her husband for SCOTUS in
tears because the democrats were so mean to her man in a staged event.

Damn right the economy is scary and damn right Obama is doing something about it too.

37. These Americans Polled think the repubs are the "party of NO"..
<snip>

Despite the tumbling economy, Barack Obama continues to enjoy a honeymoon with the American public in the face of the most trying crisis any newly inaugurated president has encountered since Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The GOP, meanwhile, is viewed by a majority of Americans as the party of "no," without a plan of its own to fix the economy, and even rank-and-file Republicans are concerned about the party's direction, according to the first NEWSWEEK Poll taken since Obama assumed office.

"People give Obama credit for reaching out to Republicans, but they don't see Republicans reciprocating," says pollster Larry Hugick, whose firm conducted the survey. "A surprising number said bipartisanship is more important than getting things done."

First Lady Michelle Obama is one heck of a lot nicer than I would be should someone say anything about my husband.
