Cheney has $85 Million invested in private PRISONS, so where's the fucking Outrage?
So where did Cheney get 85 Million Dollars?

And where's the Corporate Media's Populist Outrage on this?
Where's the fucking New York Times?

Of course, this is just one small thing,
but there have been so many egregious occurrences
in reference to the last administration....

I just want to know, where was the media we see today
flaming the "outrage Populist" fire?

and if now, why not before?

What's the difference between now and then?

There was a "direct conflict of interest" because Mr Cheney had influence over federal contracts awarded to prison companies.

1. No wonder the SOB bush administration was spying on EVERYBODY!!!
Cheney as an inmate at one of his owned prison would be justice.

2. You mean to tell me that all Cheney got from the "lost"
8 billion dollars in Iraq was a mere 85 million dollars. Hardly worth his time.

19. I thought the military lost over 2.2 Trillion dollars
And Cheney only stole 85 million. The man is not a very good thief if his cut was only 85 million. He should at least pocketed 20%.

20. Cheney is a smart money guy ...
He knows to diversify. 85M put into prisons is just a fraction of his total portfolio, maybe 10%? 5%?

I'd love to know his net worth now as compared to 2000, but we can't get info on offshore accounts.

9. I honestly believe that Eric Holder's AG office is actively investigating this stuff...
The problem is bringing forth a prosecution against a former Vice President. This kind of stuff only happens once every 30-100 years. Very little precident.

12. He got hundreds of millions for being the CEO of Halliburton including a $36 million severance pay.
Then he became VP, and guess which company got almost all the Iraq contracts?

14. When Cheney goes to hell the Devil will be able to take a long vacation.

His lies are so big you wonder how he gets away with it.

I remember when he claimed he made all his money in the private sector when he has been on and off the Gov. dole and exploited it to get rich.

Then he recently claimed that he and bush were not responsible for the economic train wreck.

He basically admitted to torturing people and basically said "so what?".

You got to wonder why he is more committed to evil then retirement especially with that bad heart.

BTW I think the answer to your question is that it is now the people's empty pocket books and 401ks crashing that got them upset. Or in other words money.

Sad isn't it? Money trumped all the other outrages.

Then again America did put Obama in ..got to give them some credit for that and I do not think this works against him but will help him fix it by giving him strong public support to do so.

15. "... has invested $85m in a company that holds shares in for-profit prisons.."
The indictment says Mr Cheney - who has invested $85m (£56m) in a company that holds shares in for-profit prisons -

...The indictment has not been seen by a judge, who could dismiss it.

It was seen by a judge, it was dismissed.

16. For profit prisons are a SICK idea - rich people making money by keeping our own citizens LOCKED UP
And often poor, street level criminals. I'm not saying we don't need prisons, but we never ever ever ever need private prisons. The $$$ incentive to create reasons to fill the prisons up any way possible is just too great. Private prisons need to be made ILLEGAL!! :grr:

18. That story is 4 months old. They've gone after the prosecutor since then.
That story is from November of 2008. There are follow up stories, the gist of which is that the powers that be have gone after the prosecutor who got the indictment. He's now the target of evil forces. You might want to see what you can find in follow up stories about it. I have read the stories as they came out, but don't recall where it is now.
