DOJ Policy on Marijuana Riles Grassley
http://www.cqpolitics.com/wmspage.cfm?docid=news-000003079776

Iowa Sen. Charles E. Grassley is not happy with the Justice Department’s shift in its anti-marijuana policy, saying it doesn’t do “health care reform any good.”

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. told reporters Wednesday that the Justice Department would not target marijuana growers considered not to be in violation of state laws. The Bush administration had targeted growers and dispensers in states, such as California, where use of the drug is legal for medical purposes.

“Given the limited resources that we have, our focus will be on people, organizations, that are growing, cultivating substantial amounts of marijuana and doing so in a way that’s inconsistent with federal law and state law,” Holder said.

Grassley, the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee and a senior GOP member of the Judiciary Committee, blasted that policy today.

“The first rule of medicine, ‘first do no harm,’ is being violated by this attorney general with his decision,” said Grassley, noting that the policy could encourage the production and use of even harder drugs.

1. Grassley needs to smoke himself a nice blunt, and calm down.
Either that, or "take the Japanese way out..."

5. We already have widespread legalized production and use of a "harder" drug
It's called alcohol.

6. Hey Chuck, Obama's just kicking it back to the states.........

If Iowa doesn't want MM, they can vote against it. Cut the fucking drama.

Oh and the whole "...noting that the policy could encourage the production and use of even harder drugs" is bullshit. There has been zero evidence that marijuana leads to "harder" drugs in individuals (who don't already have a predisposition to substance abuse). That canard needs to die a quick, fiery death.

edit: spelling and wanted to add another point.

Unthinkable! Production of Harder drugs!
Imagine if morphine, and other opiate derivatives were used in modern medicine!

Grassley is an ass.

11. Grassley's strange world:
Not raiding cannabis clubs: doing harm.

Throwing a stage-four cancer patient who has in his glovebox half an ounce of the one thing that allows him to keep food down: doing no harm.

12. Ummm, how much Prison Industrial Complex money is Grassley getting?
Just askin'.

Pukes always, always have an angle and 99.999% of the time it involves lining their pockets.
