Russian/Obama ice-cream, any one?

This undated handout image released by Russian advertising agency Voskhod on March 20, 2009 shows a smiling, cartoonish black man flashing a V-for-Victory sign in front of the US capital building, along with the Russian slogan: "Everyone's talking about it: dark inside white!" Obama ice cream, anyone? Chocolate-vanilla ice cream is one of several Russian products being marketed using America's first black president, even as critics call the ads racist.

2. Maybe this would be a good dessert to follow those Obama Fingers from Germany -
remember, breaded fried chicken with curry sauce? Serve an organic arugula salad from the new White House garden, and you'd have a relatively balanced meal.

3. I find this greedy
Not racist. Just like the Obama fingers. Hey if he sells why not. It's a lot less threatening than the shit the Freepers have been saying about Obama and they mean it. Children eat a lot of ice cream and if this helps them like Obama more it's all good.

8. Yeah, but that assumes one regional pronunciation of 'pecan'.
As a pecan grower I once knew said, she didn't grow pee-cans. "We don't use pee-cans any more, we have toilets for that." She insisted on peh-KAHN.

Which is one of the other regional pronunciations.

(Then again, my dialect make the "You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream" nonsense. "I scream" and "ice cream" don't rhyme, although for many Americans they do. Same for "writer" and "rider".)

9. The "dark inside white" is ambiguous.
That's the punch line.

"White" could be elliptical for "White House" or "white ice-cream" (the ending says it's a masculine or neuter noun, and the context allows either--'house' is masculine, 'ice cream' is neuter.)

As for "temnoe" ... it's obligatorily neuter. So definitely "morozhenoe" 'ice cream'. But as a reference to Obama ... "litso" 'face' (but also 'person' in bureaucratese).

Cute, enlisting Obama's popularity with a "V" for the Duet brand of ice-cream.
