Can we get a Krugman Avatar going
Edited on Mon Mar-23-09 09:51 PM by AllentownJake
Just to piss some people off

Also can we get some Krugman nicknames going for insults. I like Kruggers. Kind of sounds like the Nightmare on Elm st. fellow.

BTW I love Krugman and I love Barack. Sometimes I agree with Krugman sometimes I agree with Barack.

The world isn't black and white.

It just leads to more flamewars, more arguments, more pointlessness. Do we really need that?

52. No. Apparently because he is a Dem
I am not sure why it is always assumed that if you criticize Obama's policy it is out of hostility? Ok there are a lot of people out there who are actually on a smear campaign or haven't let go of the primaries, but DUers have to realize that there are going to people who don't have such hard-core interest politics or such fixed views.

Most people out there who support Obama (and are not logged on to DU 24/7) are going to be more like me and generally like and support the guy and occasionally, such as now, raise an eyebrow at what will eventually be one of the most important parts of his presidency.

Why don't some DUers understand that it is not even in Obama's best interest politically to follow this Geithner plan. I take a bit of offense to the idea that most people out there, even if reasonably well-educated, can absolutely not understand matters related to the economy, to the extent that they may not even offer a general opinion based on their impression of a broad overview of what is being proposed.

I really like a lot of what I have seen from Obama with regard to his policies on science and the environment. But, his economic team does not appeal to me so far and I think if he messes up on that front it will affect him inm the future and we will be stuck with fucking Palin/Plumber in '012.

even though some will not accept them and see how it goes.

OH....and Krugman has been criticizing Obama for two years already.

Here is some information. It's kind of sad, actually.

Krugman wrote hit piece after hit piece throughout the primaries.....consistently,
all of the time! :(

here's just a few!

35. The only thing that Krugman is doing is assisting eroding Obama's numbers....
then when the budget doesn't pass, Krugman will make sure that's Obama fault too.

But that's why I don't trust Krugman.
Because he is a PUMA.
He really didn't think that Barack could win because he was Black.
He was wrong about that too.

So, his economic theories are fine,
but there is a reason that he criticizes Obama in a way that really should be only reserved
for the true enemy.

So yes, I'm disallusioned with anything Krugman has to say,
because he has shown the kind of political bias in the past that makes me leery of him now.

Edited on Mon Mar-23-09 10:58 PM by AllentownJake
I already know the answer.

His endorsement sure pushed Hillary over the finish line didn't it.

Also he's expressed nothing but support for President Obama's budget.

Don't you think someone from the left criticising him for not going far enough strengthens his position...as a moderate?

40. I just think that he got too political for me to believe that he is an objective
economist.

He's biased and doesn't like Barack Obama.

Anyone that believed that Obama couldn't win because he was Black,
proved flawed judgment...and he wrote totally anti-Obama articles
throughout the primaries.

Sure, Krugman sells his own position fine,
but sells out Obama's.

An objective economist, dealing with a situation that has never been experienced as this one,
to which he admits doesn't have perfect answers might sell his own position,
but wouldn't be so absolute as to what won't work,
and certainly wouldn't use such strong political rethoric
to describe it.

He practically stated that Obama's presidency was a failure.
How's that objective. That's a political opinion.

Plus by being anti-Obama he's making an even bigger name for himself,
and he is definitely rewarded for being so certain.

Far as I'm concerned, he's human, and never truly got over the primaries, and it shows.

45. I don't think so.
Krugman doesn't know when to chill just a bit.
You read the language in his column, right?
It wasn't measured at all.

Just like when he advocated for Hillary's health plan,
and acted like Obama's plan came from a different planet although it was the same plan,
except that obama didn't include mandates.
But that is not what one walked away when you read a Krugman column.

If one can twist economic issues to root for your candidate,
you are not objective.

I accept that he isn't. But I think others should too.

When Obama's budget has difficulty passing,
Krugman should understand he helped by going further than he needed to go,
when he could have been a bit more reasonable.
He deliberately chose not to be.

44. Once, again Frenchie, if you think the content of Krugman's columns spring from the
notion that he's in some type of hissy fit that Hillary didn't get the nomination, you have some serious growing up to do politically.

Just because he disagrees with the President doesn't mean that he has deemed him a failure.

Stick to the facts. Your argument shines better then. Start name calling and assigning him ideas he has never forwarded and you lose credence.

But its a shame that in the mean time more of my friends will be out or work, out of homes, or out on the street, and the country will be that much more in unnecessary debt, and more wealth will be transferred to some rich wall street assholes.
