Take all of your free money and put it into stocks - specifically banking stocks. If you think this plan is going to work (and you're right) you stand to make lots of money.

Please post in this thread and let us know if you're one of the lucky investors who are going to take advantage of this incredible opportunity - and then let us know how you're doing 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, hell, even 5 years from now!

I expect to hear great things! Take the challenge! I'm bookmarking this thread!

1. Screw the stock market
I want to get in where the "private" investors buy $100 worth of debt for only six bucks, and that's the most they can lose.

2. If it turns out that these securities are undervalued, good lord are they going to make money.

I've got this thread bookmarked, and I'll check back in 6 months for the first of regular updates.

9. I did say "if".
I am continuing to add to my stock positions just as I have been the last six months. It's hurt so far, but when it finally recovers, whenever that is, I am sure I will be a happy camper.

Will probably take it back out later this week or next.

It's going well this way. :)

11. I don't care.
I'm making money now, in the short-term and that's my plan.

Bookmark all you want! I'll be counting my money.

You sound bitter.

13. But if you REALLY think the plan will work, it would be foolish to take your money out now.
Anyway, we'll talk in September.

15. Did I say anything about the Geithner plan? No. In fact, I've argued against it.
Edited on Mon Mar-23-09 10:04 PM by dem629
I said in the first reply that my plan is short-term gain. It's working. I'm making money. Suck it.

16. So you think the Geithner plan WON'T work?
That the people buying into the market today won't be better off in 6 months? 1 year? 2 years? Why is that?

Edited on Mon Mar-23-09 10:09 PM by dem629
read my posts from today. I doubt you care enough to look at them and, frankly, I'm tired of debating it, and don't care what anyone else thinks at this point.

It's a scheme, pure and simple, and we're being ripped off by corporations, CEOs, and politicians from both parties from top to bottom.

I'm just glad I've seen the easy gains I've seen over the last week and hope to eek out a little more before I sell it all.

8. I think Obama will preside over the biggest economic recovery in the history.
of the nation. I am predicting this. It is not something I hope will or will not happen. No one ever thought the Great Depression would happen or the WTC would fall. Stranger things have happened than economic recovery. Yes I do have stocks and I'm not going to panic. I have diverse investments and have taken a hit but I do have hope.

27. Since the market is up today...
Edited on Mon Mar-23-09 10:55 PM by CoffeeCat
...we are taking out our small chunk of change that still remains in the stock market.

It's only about 10k.

We pulled out the majority of our money that was in the stock market--early last fall.

We left some in--just to hedge our bets.

We're done.

We were waiting for an uptick, and now it's here.

Yes, please. Bookmark this page. I want to see how we all do. It will be interesting.

33. Since you don't believe in Geitner's plan, tell us what should be happening.
Anyone can say what is wrong, but since you're already out here cheerleading for failure, how about you tell us what you believe will work instead?

I don't know if Geithner's plan will work or not, but I hope it will. And I hope that the millions of Americans who have their retirement money invested in the market, don't lose anymore money.

This is about many average Americans-not just the rich.
