Poll question: What past president should Obama naysayers refer to that fixed a bad economy in two months?
Clearly, those who think Obama hasn't fixed the economy yet or that Geithner hasn't fixed the economy in two months has an example of a President in the past who turned a down economy around in two months or less... such as...

President Gray Hairtwirl?

Or...

2. obama isn't reinventing the wheel . . . look to FDR and New Deal . . .
This mess was caused by the overturning of New Deal regulations ---

FDR wasn't an economist, but he knew crime when he saw it --!!!

4. It took FDR several years to begin to make headway, not 2 months...
... and he was called every name in the book, Commie and Jew among them.

10. Not only did it take FDR time, trial and error, it is a different ballgame.
Indeed, President Obama additionally has to deal with the racial component of being the first Black president, two wars, the economy and the thieves who knowing brought about the economic collapse, reconstructing our good will around the world, etc.

Peace:thumbsup:

With massive pressure from powerful and militant left wing organizations. He welcomed that. Good leaders do, successful leaders do. He said "if you want me do do something, force me to."

3. Economy is fixed?????
Inflation is heating up, energy prices are rising, American jobs continue to vanish in record numbers, deficit and debt levels are completely insane.

5. no one thinks that
No one is complaining that "Obama hasn't fixed the economy in 2 months." No one.

Why stir this up again and again and spread animosity and division?

12. I guess you missed my point...
...or perhaps you don't own a TV or radio.

Certainly you must have seen how so many people are piling on Obama with armchair politics and never seem to let anyone know who they might be referring to that would set a better example...

Edited on Tue Mar-24-09 01:18 PM by Two Americas
You fly around the board dropping malicious and divisive comments everywhere, which you never defend or discuss. Maybe you are afraid of cold water being throwing on your continual outrage against any and all who do not agree with you.

20. have it your way
Do whatever you want to do. I think it is highly destructive, and I don't understand why a small minority of people here is so aggressively pursing this divisive and destructive course. Is it fun to do? Is that all there is to it? It is a mystery to me.

21. the "small minority of people here is so aggressively pursing this divisive and destructive course."
would be the people who repeatedly post negative articles and gnash\wail that we're doomed while the administration is only two months old...

or haven't you noticed?

23. can't let it go, can you?
No one is doing this - "repeatedly post negative articles and gnash\wail that we're doomed while the administration is only two months old."

Pounding and pounding on this false and malicious theme is merely a transparent attempt at getting people who don't agree with you to give up and be quiet, and to get others to ignore what they are saying.

2 months, and the "fix" was in. His uber-rich buddies made out like bandits. And the rest of us was royally effed.

Seriously, people are afraid because we don't know Obama's long term plan and the short term patch is very scary.

He popped it; he locked it; he kept it real and he took it to the next level.
