He answered a question about whether marijuana legalization would boost the economy.

The economy would benefit greatly from legalization. The issue should at least be taken seriously.

Eight or nine posters who hate the fact that Obama is President pounce on any perceived wrong in order to forward their own agenda. It's perfectly fine, and I admire their stick-to-itiveness, but we shouldn't mistake it for something else.

That said, I mostly agree that Obama's answer was incomplete and hedged. Whether I consider it an issue to be flailing around like a lunatic about is another question. And, of course, I smoked plenty of pot between the ages of 14 and probably 21 or 22. Not so much anymore, which probably leads to my shoulder shrugging over the whole issue. Yes, the criminalization of cannabis is ludicrous, damaging, costly, and unjust. But so are a lot of things that have more relevance and import, in my view. Obama is certainly wrong and politicking here. But only lunatic pro-Obama supporters ever thought he didn't do that sort of thing, and only fanatical anti-Obama people bring up the fact that he's playing politics as if it is some kind of a-ha moment (no shit, asshole...he's a fucking politician!).

Sad that this is even a major issue. Pot? I am not sure I really care enough to be angry either way. I am just amused. And I even think it should be legalized!
