"Americans not shown Obama's Prague speech, just the pundits commentating on it"
Yep. I'm quoting myself! ;)

The various Corporate News channels have yet to broadcast the speech in full at an hour when Americans are awake,

Yet they don't seem to have any hesitation in commenting about the speech much of all day, while showing selected 1 minute excerpts.

I ask :wtf:
and then remember that the corporate news didn't very much like how public opinion was so counter their own.....right after the debates during the election, so I guess this works out just dandy for them! :(

I will say that I heard that the speech will be shown in full on C-Span at 5:00 p.m. eastern time.....at least.

But I'll just say....with a media like this, what else could one wish for?

1. Can't take the time to show the entire speech, they have to have a commercial break
every 11 1/2 minutes!

2. Since it's taped at this point, they could push the pause button
and do their break.

But yeah...I know what you mean.

3. I think we need a 24/7 Obama channel. I'd watch it.

4. I think we need a news media that actually makes sense.
For them to discuss something at length that they haven't shown us is pretty indicative of how out of hand things are getting with them.

10. heck, half the time you are lucky if THEY have seen the whole speech
Edited on Sun Apr-05-09 01:26 PM by hfojvt
it's not like they need to do that to be able to pontificate about it.

Me neither, of course, I often comment about the snips I have read without bothering to read the whole thing.

15. True...most probably don't bother watching th e speeches.
Why should they, when they have to use the faxed talking points anyways?

5. I don't get it. How can anyone's speech
be more important than my comments on it?

Plus, I am not paying any attention to what happens in Prague unless there is a defenestration. If you break a window in Prague, you get 30 years of bad luck.

8. But If you break a window in Prague while Obama is there,
Then you get to see your face on CNN breaking that window over and over again....and it will be shown in a small box underneath the President's every move for an entire day!

Someone was questioning how do I discern which media sources to believe, since I say they all stink. I told them, I rely on myself much more so. This is a demonstration of my practicing what I so preach! LOL!

13. These are some frightening MoFos, if you ask me!
Guess they consider us too stupid to stop and come up with that.

Kind of like listening to reviews of a movie you haven't yet seen.
The great big difference of course is that this is real life, and not a movie. :(

12. Frenchie, didn't you get the memo? Caught On Camera, Investigates, and the host of other
criminal focused shows are all the rage on this Sunday afternoon. Pretty pathetic, isn't it?

14. I hear you. A snip and talking head commentary. I assume the thing is available,
in toto, on the web - either C-SPAN or whitehouse.gov - or (gasp!) in print.

Yet the TV news shows preponderance on trivialities is frustrating. I've drifted away from a lot of it.

Only show I tend to remember to watch recently is Fareed Zakariah's Sunday morning piece on CNN. While I may not agree with his POV, at times, it's a thoughtful show with some substance.

That and any full interview, press conferences, etc. Then I walk away. I can make up my own mind.

fwiw - ;)

16. You think they want you to see that crowd? Not a chance. I watched
those Sunday shows this morning and it was like it didn't happen

17. Frenchie, MSNBC showed a part of the speech in the Chech Republic
last night live. How kind of MSNBC to interrupt Lockup to bring President Obama live. Actually, the TV was on and in between waking and snoozing, I heard our Global President's voice and looked. He was good and the crowd was huge, they cheered him many times. Our President was so articulate and focused.
