Sen. Blanche Lincoln says she can't support EFCA
Edited on Mon Apr-06-09 03:38 PM by Thrill
Wow just wow. After Biden helped her raise almost a million in one day for re-election.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln has said she cannot support the Employee Free Choice Act in its current form.

In a visit Monday with the Political Animals Club, the Democrat from Arkansas said she could not support the EFCA, which is federal legislation aimed at making union organizing easier. She said the legislation is "one of those issues that creates great division as well as distraction at a time we need all hands on deck."

Lincoln admitted she might not have made her position clear previously, but said she was doing so now.

Don't forget to tune into The Big Ed Show today on MSNBC. I bet he has a few words for her.

25. that next time doesn't work too good.....
there needs to be some kind of effort to get the American people to pick up the phone and call these people. Maybe like if 1% of the population did it, that would be enough? I know..too much to ask. Next time it is.

9. But she could team with Rep. Senator Kyl to raise estate tax limit to $10 Mil and lower rate to 35%.
That's a 35% rate after a $10 million dollar exemption--$5 million for individuals.

10. Has She Looked At Her Poll Numbers Lately?
For having been in office for over a decade she's faring badly. No amount of Wal-Mart sales is going to help her if she doesn't get a clue.

12. No fuck my previous fuck it - WHY SHOULD THIS SURPRISE ANYONE
This is what happens when the White House basically signals that they're not going to push to keep anyone in line, and they're not going to make it a policy priority.

Why would we EXPECT any of these tools to take a tough, controversial position when no one is forcing them too - either by threat or promise?!

You think everyone is just going to do it out the goodness of their heart? Why the fuck SHOULD they - in real politik terms - go out on a limb with the administration won't and doesn't care to make this a priority at this time?

Just like fake "democrat" pieces of shit like Blanche Walton voting against Democrats, the working class, and the American People. TYPICAL DLC/Blueballer.

Have I mentioned tonight how much I hate these "people"?

23. Why should the White House waste political capital on something that's doomed anyway?
EFCA is simply not going to pass without Specter's support or Franken seated. It's impossible.

13. Sometimes we NEED some division and distraction!!!!
Hell, we really kind of already got it with Bayh and his "Blue Dog" coalition. I might agree with her when it comes to something like gun control but there is no better time to deal with EFCA and especially health care. The people opposing stuff like EFCA and REAL health care reform need to be exposed for what they are- OBSTRUCTIONISTS of a positive middle-/working-class agenda!!!!!!

16. Drop card check, take away the RW boogeyman
Mandate secret ballot elections within two weeks.

Take away card check and it is very hard to demonize this bill as anything but fair.

24. She didn't say that she would vote against ending an authentic Republican filibuster ....
against EFCA.

We need 51 Senate votes to pass EFCA.

Not 60.

And a real Republican filibuster can easily be defeated.

All true filibusters end and don't last very long.

Force the Republicans to filibuster!

And I'm not talking about the fake "call-in" filibuster that the Republicans and conservative Senator Reid love so much.

Don't even think Fulbright was. Possibly not even Bumpers, and he was the Arkansas politician we SHOULD have nominated for president.
