Poll: Obama gets high marks for trip abroad
@ 3:08 pm by Jeremy P. Jacobs

President Obama received some very high marks in a new poll as his first trip overseas comes to an end on Tuesday.

Nearly eight in 10 respondents said people in other countries will view the U.S. more positively after Obama's trip, in the CNN/Opinion Research poll released Monday. Less than two in 10 said they will view the country more negatively.

Sixteen percent said Obama accomplished a "great deal" on the trip and 45 percent said he accomplished a "fair amount."

"The American public seems to think that Obama's primary achievement on his trip so far was increasing goodwill rather than winning specific concessions from other countries," Keating Holland, CNN's polling director, said. "Obama seems to have made a good first impression on the world stage, and Americans appear to have noticed."

There was a margin of error of +/- 3 percent in the poll.

1. I'm surprised it is so LOW !!!!!!!!!!
But, then again, we have a few Republicans and Freepers left in the nation who aren't in prison or on TV.

5. I probably said that wrong..
Obama did it but a lot of times the media distracts from the real point.

We sure didn't need the stinking media for the primary or the general:)

6. It wasn't a poll that had been "DU'ed", was it? I don't put much stock in polls lately,
for just that reason.

7. Despite what all you Obama-critic-haters say about me,
I give Obama high marks. I think he did much to help restore America's image abroad.

I'm not crazy about the G20 meeting and its plans to ensure that the rich keep getting richer, but they would have done that regardless; that's who and what they are. Obama has no effect on that.

But in other regards, his trip was outstanding.

There is a margin of error in my opinion of 0%.

8. But, but . . . he didn't ACCOMPLISH anything!!!

Don't you love how - after Obama made them eat their predictions that he was too "inexperienced" to hold his own on the world stage - suddenly, winning over hearts and minds across the world has no place in foreign relations?

Can you imagine what they'd be saying if Obama had gotten everything he went after but made a complete idiot of himself? I'll bet that they'd be singing a different tune about impressions and relationships!
