2. The Geneva Conventions place that responsibility on the U.S.
We agreed to prosecute those who violate the Conventions. If we don't prosecute our citizens when they violate the Conventions, who will prosecute their own citizens?

We might as well just announce that we no longer agree to abide by the Geneva Conventions. That's what we are doing in effect if we do not prosecute those in the Bush administration who authorized the torture. They all knew that what they were doing was illegal.

3. I see where you're going. Yes, it is our responsiblity per Geneva.
That's right. But, thank goodness, there are redundant systems so if we fail miserably, justice might still be achieved.

5. Misleading headline. The political appointee AG tried to get it shut down
as a favor to Obama but he has nothing to do with the court -- who did not agree with him.
