Mueller on whether intel from torture disrupted attacks: “I don’t believe that has been the case”
Edited on Thu Apr-23-09 06:55 AM by jefferson_dem
In an interview with Vanity Fair last year, the F.B.I. director since 2001, Robert S. Mueller III, was asked whether any attacks had been disrupted because of intelligence obtained through the coercive methods. “I don’t believe that has been the case,” Mr. Mueller said. (A spokesman for Mr. Mueller, John Miller, said on Tuesday, “The quote is accurate.”)

1. FBI reportedly was shut out of interrogation, which is FBI's specialty, early on

MSNBC (Keith?Rachel?) reported last night Mueller told his people to stay away from "terror" interrogation totally because he saw a bad end when BushCo shut out FBI and wanted it done by CIA.

Mueller can shed a lot of light on the subject, I think.

2. Questions to consider:
When did the prisoners provide information if any?

What information would be useful as time goes on? Or useless?

How useful is information when al-quada (I know spelling is not correct) operated with cell groups?

How useful is the information when they know their members have been captured and tortured?

3. Mueller warned their policy of torture would end badly. He knows where the bodies are buried.
Literally and figuratively.
