HRC: "President Obama won the election."
How sweet is it to see Hillary Clinton of all people smack down the idiot Republicans who do nothing but criticize our president?

1. I think Hillary has done a phenomenal job.
I wonder what you mean by, "of all people," though. She's been a bare-knuckle brawler her entire political career.

2. I know she has
I just find it funny to see her defending Obama on something she once attacked him over (his proposal to meet with rogue leaders). And I like how she handled that, by acknowledging that she had espoused a different view in the primaries but he beat her, so he has a mandate to do it his way.

5. It was not about meeting with rogue leaders.
It was about meeting with them without preconditions.

7. Yes, I know exactly what you mean by that..
the video gave me chills and I got all verklempt. I think it especially means more to those who lived through every last primary battle and everyday of the General.

And, I know you were there.:)

16. I remember that line, too! Those primary debates were great, weren't they?
In retrospect, we had such gold in our party we never completely appreciated at the time.

You know, I voted for Hillary on Super Tuesday because Edwards had dropped out and my husband was SUCH a strong supporter of HRC I had to respect it. This enormous regard for her has been totally vindicated by the way she is performing on the world stage. Pence and the other repubs look like such little pishers compared to her with her stature an Obama with his.

We are truly blessed by having leaders such as these...

25. I marvel that more people didn't enjoy the primaries. Our team was so strong, our bench deep.
The primary season showed that and the debates must have scared the shit out of the Republicans.

31. Well, there were a lot of scary things on the way to that victory.
I was a nervous wreck for most of the campaign. I'm so glad I got the hell out of the US and went to Spain for a couple of weeks before the election...did me a lot of good...LOL...

34. Towards the end I was pretty optimistic, but still gun shy.
On the long flight back to NYC from Madrid I met a couple from Berkely CA. He had just retired from the U of CA system and had been glued to his computer constantly, checking the polls obsessively, every day at dawn. His wife told me she said "Enough! We're going to Spain!" and booked the trip and off they went. We laughed and talked politics all the way to New York. It was fun. I kept thinking "We liberals seem to be all alike on this polling thing!" I mean, every liberal in my family and my friends were the same...

Not to be confused with forced feces. That contributes to hemrhoids, however the hell it's spelled.

12. He should have looked unwell
The Secretary of State of the United States just showed him up to be an ignorant,
Foxese-spouting buffoon on national television. If "unwell" is all he was, he came
out of the encounter close to unscathed.

48. ...dictator?
Virulent, arguably - Chavez is a very nasty piece of work. The number of DUers who don't recognise that worries me.
Anti-American, arguably - it's not yet clear whether he was just anti-Bush or not.
Socialist, yes, obviously.

Autocrat, sure - Chavez's commitment to democracy is clearly only skin deep.

But there's no way Chavez can be classed as a dictator.

50. Hilary looks set to become one of the most powerful Secretaries of State in history
it helps that she is SoS in "interesting times", but she is so active and so high profile, it's quite astounding.
Furthermore, the Prez seems more than comfortable letting her a lot of freedom to operate. It is a well balanced partnership and one I did not foresee.

Kudo's, Hilary. Go make some history.

51. How so? She's been doing her job by following the President's lead on all foreign policy issues.
I think the days of the "powerful Secretaries of State" of old are over. I doubt Hillary will be as powerful as Henry Kissinger or James
Baker in shaping American foreign policy because President Obama has made it clear that "the buck stops with him" and there are
special envoys to do the heavy lifting in global hotspots.

I'm sure Hillary has some input, as all Cabinet officials do, but there's no doubt who's directing the foreign policy of this nation via
the Obama Doctrine. Sure, she has been "active" but she hasn't been "high-profile". Yes, she accompanied the president to the
G20 and the Summit of the Americas but she hasn't made much news beyond her appearance on Capitol Hill the other day and
even that wasn't all-day MSM gabfest (which is the way it should be). Condi Rice got similar media treatment during her early
days because she was also considered a bit of a "rock-star" at the time, being the first black woman to be SoS but that too
turned out to be a poor barometer of how "powerful" she was.
