1. Spector will continue to be an obstructionist to the Democratic party
no matter which party Spector choose to affiliate himself with.

This announcement is no victory for the Democratic party.

This is simply a move by Spector to keep his seat. He is not going to change his ways.

this is whats called a political posturing.

I'm not against him switching but I would rather him believes in what
Democrats stand for instead of posturing.

I want to see him fighting the good fight, no enabling of corporations.

I know he'll continue to be "that asshole, Arlen Specter".

I know that the deal probably means no primary challenger for him in 2010 and an easy reelection (because the alternative will be Pat Toomey, and I don't think anyone in PA wants that).

But we might see him change his ways a bit now he doesn't have the axe of the GOP leadership poised over his neck.
