Gibbs mocks RNC
@ 3:08 pm by Hill Staff

When asked about the Republican National Committee's (RNC) plans to pass a resolution renaming the Democratic Party, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs had a chuckle and more than an ounce of sarcasm.

"I would say given the challenges they face… that's the exact same way I would be using my time too," Gibbs said.

Gibbs was responding to an item reportedly on the agenda of next week's RNC meeting to rename the "Democratic Party" as the "Democrat Socialist Party."

1. I'd love to know what idiot in the press corps wasted prescious time asking this stupid question
given all the issues of the day we are facing right now.

They should be fired.

3. This week also featured a cell phone joke fest, filled with
big laughs and theatrics, right in the middle of discussing torture. Hilarity ensued as we spoke of torture.

4. Whatever.
Gibbs didn't take the cell phone away for laughs during a serious discussion.

He took it away because he's sick of the phones going off during serious discussion and wanted to make a point and there were a few giggles.

On the other hand, someone making a paycheck based on asking tough questions of the administration taking time out to ask about some junior high school "na na na boo-boo" PR stunt -- given the weighty issues of the day -- doesn't deserve to be in that room, IMO.

2. Excellent response!
That's exactly what we need more of -- laughing at their ineptitude and all around ridiculousness.

5. Freakin' A Gibbs! Zing!
I see the repukes are going to officially call us the "Democrat" party with a "Socialist" added on for extra insults.
