The biggest problem with the "free media"
Is that we are nothing but 3rd parties. We are not the real consumers. The advertisers are. Whether it be your newspaper, TV show, radio, or website the free media has one consumer, business.

I finally figured this out and accepted it during a local election. The opponent to my friend leaked a story to the press about a late tax payment. Her opponent worked in the Treasurers office and basically just did a review of her records for dirt. The paper ran the story. Two weeks later it was made public that certain business taxes had been going uncollected for years.

The local paper ran a feature on my friend, ran nothing on the lack of business taxes being collected. Big reason, a lot of the taxes that weren't collected came from developers, car dealerships, rental companies, and other businesses that advertise in the local paper.

My friend was 6 months late on a tax payment for a personal hardship involving her parents. The person running for Treasurer had worked in an office and was the deputy to the retiring incumbent had served in an administration that had failed to collect business taxes. My friends late payment was around $3000. The business taxes uncollected might be over a million.

The Corporate Media will never, bite the hand that feeds them on large matters or small. There is no liberal media. Only a media that watches the back of the people who pay for advertising.
