She seems very qualified and I trust Obama's judgment so I support her 100 percent.I guess I really don't have much to say other than I really like her and I hope she gets in.

1. Me too. She seems extremely well-qualifed and a lovely person.
And from what I understand, she's no shrinking violet and is not afraid to stand her ground against a majority opinion.

2. Excellent Choice
It seems quite obvious to me that Obama made the right choice. I am going to ignore the freeper naysayers and I am not even going to try to defend her. I am sure that she can defend herself quite well.

6. I'm not so sure
Yet.

Guess I've been disappointed a number of times so far with President Obama's choices so he isn't getting an automatic from me.

Hope she proves to be more Liberal than some of her decisions so far.

13. I'm not Obama's biggest fan, but I think he made an outstanding selection here.

Besides, didn't people worry that Breyer might turn out wrong?

15. I hope you are right.
Looking at her past decisions she could come down on the side of Ant-Abortionists easily.

7. She is actually quite boring (I mean that in a good way).
She is competent and thorough; definitely well-qualified. What I like is that her rulings overturned by the SC, the liberal judges dissented. Tells me she will vote with them; a great replacement for Souter. :hi:

This is a good article, good site:

9. I disagree with some of her decisions.
I also recognize that there's room for reasonable disagreement.

14. Which of 'her' decisions?
As a trial court judge? Or decisions of the Court of Appeals?

12. She seems well Qualified.
Therefore, I oppose her based on the fact that the court is overpopulated with Easterners and we have to have more westerners in the court, if it is to be truly representative.

Ok. Not really.

17. I like that she was actually a TRIAL judge at one point.
Souter is the ONLY justice who served as a judge on anything but an appeals court and that was as a Superior and the Supreme Court justice at the state level. Appellate court judges do their work in something of a bubble and I think Sotomayor will bring some much-needed real world perspective to the Court.
