I heard yesterday that Chuck Schumer had proposed taking a public
option for health insurance off the table. I finally got through to his office today.
The woman who answered said that he hadn't decided yet which way to go. I told her how shameful it would be to exclude a public option.

3. Is there some symbol we can mass mail him?
To get his attention.

What small mailable item could represent public health care?

4. He is cosponsor of Brown's law expressing a sense of the Senate there should be a public option.
and has co-signed an earlier letter to Sebelius asking for the same thing.

6. People REALLY need to call their reps.
This is important stuff. These notes and messages DO get passed along--

Thank you for taking the time to make that call. The reality is this, if no one calls, they will not have anything to listen to. I don't think any of us should assume that oour reps read blogs and message boards, the only way we can get the message across is by calling up, mailing letters and visiting offices. Don't expect the media to speak for you and I. It won't.
