At an event in New York City Tuesday, Vice President Biden touted a group business leaders he met with as living proof that the stimulus bill, which his office called a “two-year program,” is creating jobs. “They are on the front lines of hiring folks for new jobs and preventing lay-offs. They have first-hand knowledge of how this economy – and our policies – are working,” Biden said.

“We’re looking to those in the business community to be creative, to be innovative and really take advantage of the new opportunities made possible by this Recovery Act.” Biden held the event at Pace University in New York.On hand at Pace were Deputy Treasury Secretary Neal Wolin and Gov. David Paterson, who Biden gave a borderline endorsement for re-election last night in remarks at a DNC fundraiser.

“Your once and future governor of the state of New York has been extremely generous to Barack and to me and has been a major part of us trying to put this economy back together,” Biden said. “And governor just as your state led in our election, it is our hope that your state leads us out of this mess we inherited.”

He's one of the few men who still wear them, I always think of it as his trademark.
