Late night television.
Living in the Central time zone it is hard to tell who is where or when. Letterman already comes on at 10:35. Now Conan comes on at that time. The later guys seem to have to wait between some hollywood show or something anyway so they are on much later. Me for one am just happy about the return of Andy Richter.

12. I live in CST now but grew up in the EST..
Looking back, I sometimes wonder "how did people stay up to watch the 11pm news and The Tonight Show at 11:35pm during the week and still get up for work the next day??". I work 8-4:30 during the week, get up at 5:30 since I take mass trans to work..can't even make it to the Tonight Show or Letterman and they come on at 10:35 pm here.

18. Same for the West Coast
which is why I have not watched Saturday Night Live for many years when we lived there.

And we would not even consider watching any new program that would start at 10:00 PM (Eastern and Pacific).

11. Years ago a friend of my parents who was a pilot mentioned
that he didn't need a watch to know it was 10:30 when he was flying in or out of MSP. Because at 10:30 that's when he could see the lights going out in all the houses under his flight path. That's when the local news ends and it was time to go to bed (at least on week nights).

This is the city that prefers a good night's sleep

2. I'm in Texas and Ferguson/Fallon come on at 11:35...
Edited on Wed Jun-03-09 09:17 PM by TTUBatfan2008
For a long time, Conan and Kilborn/Ferguson did not come on until 12:05 when I lived in Houston, but they finally got with the program. And going back even further, Conan wouldn't come on until 1:05 in Houston. He actually made fun of this on one of his shows. It was hilarious because he hit the nail smack dab on the head. He said that he was actually in Houston and up pretty late one night and he noticed that his show didn't come on until 1:05. People in his audience thought he was joking but all of us Houstonians knew exactly what he was talking about.

6. Conan's sidekick...
He was Conan's sidekick for a long time, but then he left the show for quite a while...but now he's back since Conan has moved up to the big time. :P

10. I like it.
Especially if you're a sports fan.

If you're back east, west coast games start way too late (generally 7:30 there, so they'd start at 8:30 here, 9:30 in CST and 10:30 back east). If you're on the west coast, east coast games start way too early (5:00 or 6:00 here, 4:00 or 5:00 in PST).

But unlike you, the Daily Show comes on at midnight here.

I don't know why.

13. Mountain Zone here too...
Daily Show and Colbert come on late because we get the West Coast feeds. Gotta TIVO them every day.
