3. Me, too. I don't agree with him on some things. But I still love the guy.
I get the sense occasionally, when I see him on TV, or read about something he's done, that I'm watching an historical Presidency.

I get the feeling that this is what it must have been like during FDR's Presidency. The day to day grind. The complaining from time to time about what the President did or didn't do. But stopping occasionally and realizing that this guy is going to be one of the great Presidents. And you're able to experience it firsthand.

Doesn't mean I've lost sight of reality or don't expect him to do certain things. But what an experience.

11. I'm guessing that years from now, you'll be telling your young relatives...
Edited on Wed Jun-03-09 10:37 PM by Honeycombe8
that, yes, you voted for Obama and supported him enthusiastically during his presidency. Oh, there were a few times I disagreed with him, you'll tell the little ones as you pat them on the heads and laugh in your old geiser voice. "But I knew he'd be one of the greats," you'll say.

You'll be experiencing firsthand a Reagan revisionism, as you rewrite your support of this administration.

I'm a hard nosed, cynical, not easily won Independent. Some of us have the sense to recognize certain people for what they are. When I first heard Obama talk, it was on TV, and I was walking through the room, not even looking at the TV. It was several years ago. I stopped and turned to look at the TV, saying aloud to myself, "Who is that?" I recognized at once he had something special. He had "it."

If I'd told my co-workers that, they would've thought I was crazy.

When he announced he was running for President, and everyone around me insisted that a black man couldn't win....I knew it would be a long row to hoe, but I had a sense that he could, and would.

So now I say to you...I have a sense that he will be one of the greats. I could be wrong. But so far, I'm 2 for 2. What's your score?

15. You hit it right on...for me!
I've been saying this all along: WE ARE LIVING IN AMAZING TIMES UNDER AN AMAZING, TIMELESS LEADER. We are SO fortunate...esp. after the last 8 years and other recent horrible presidencies (Nixon, Reagan). I am going to soak up every second. Even if I, as you, don't agree with all his positions and decisions. I think that's part of the lesson. Thank you so much for your sharing your thoughts and expressing exactly what I've been feeling!

and the great people who work for him. I don't agree with him 100% on everything but I cannot say that there is anything that I personally hold against him and his views are very similar to mine.

Tonight coming home from work ... on my 493rd listening to "Audacity" on the old iphone .... I noticed how he talked about Reagan's ability to champion a common cause that united Americans in spite of their differences .... whenever the left complained about what he was doing, it just plaid into his plan and made them look more and more out of touch.

I couldn't help but smile. Like this.... ---> :)

Sorry I cant cite a page for you all ... because it was a thing of beauty to read.

and for no reason at all.....

16. Done more
He's already done more in his first 100+ days than most do in their entire presidencies! Look where he keeps popping up. Pinch me - I must be dreaming. Hope Egypt goes well for him. ;-)

22. I have been down on him lately...
but, damn - on days like today, I am reminded of just what our country gained when we elected him president. There is no greater spokesperson for the United States of America. What an amazing speech. I can't wait to see the Freeper reactions.
