considering we have a president who is trying to mend fences, and actually has the ability to find pertinent portions of the Qur'an to do so.

It's not a negative tome. It's a religious book that Muslims embrace, as Christians do the Bible.

I love the fact that we have a president who appreciates the differences, and respects both.

but I do care about what the mushy middle makes of all this. They usually don't bother to get "political", that is, educate themselves about candidates until the weekend before an election. They just want to be comfortable the rest of the time, and that means they want low taxes, high government benefits and efficiency, and a general feeling of safety.

The Rethugs have successfully motivated them when it comes to high taxes, we've successfully motivated them when it comes to government benefits, but they're up for grabs on national security. I just hope that whatever kept us safe from an attack on our soil is still in place for the next four years, or the other side will be happy to trot out pictures of President Obama kowtowing to Islam.

As for national security, President Obama is doing just fine, people are listening and trust him.
