Ed Rollins "Because he grew up in a Muslim Family"

This is what he said after Rick Sanchez asked why Obama was taking such a hard stance with Israel. Ok maybe I missed it, but what Muslim family did Obama grow up in?

1. Must be talking about his Indonesian step-father
Though I don't know for sure the fellow was Muslim.

5. sounds like a pretty secular Muslim, which I found to be common in Jakarta
Soetoro was more of a free thinker than a devout Muslim, according to friends and neighbors.<16> He died of a liver ailment in Jakarta in 1987 at age 52,<17><18> and was buried in Tanah Kusir Cemetery, South Jakarta.

2. for about three years he lived with his step father in Indonesia

Rollins was trying to be somewhat even handed and what I think he wanted to say was "he had relatives in his family that are Muslim and lived in a Muslim nation".

I was more surprised that Sanchez just went on without correcting it.

4. Sounds like he's mixing up having a Muslim father and then
living in a Muslim country (Indonesia) for several years

Or, he's just lying.

They seem to want to exterminate the Palestinians rather than work with them. That kind of sounds like the Holocaust

13. That's outrageous. I know many Jews, some in my family, who do not wish to see
Palestinians exterminated.

It is simply unacceptable to compare the Holocaust to Israel. Where are you getting your information?

8. I can't see where he's taking a hard stance.
He's not coddling them, but he's certainly not being overly harsh, he's being firm. I just don't understand why so many people seem terrified of defying Israel.

11. What did Rick Sanchez say after Rollins made an ass out of himself?
Sanchez should have interjected that Obama was a kid when he had a step-dad who was a Muslim. It makes about as much sense are saying people who question Israel's tactics got that way from going to gas stations owned by Muslims over the years...
