Flashback: Scarborough Chortled At “Funny Story” About DHS Report, Called Napolitano “Nuts” (VIDEO)
Flashback: Scarborough Chortled At “Funny Story” About DHS Report, Called Napolitano “Nuts”

In light of yesterday’s Holocaust Museum shooting, it’s not particularly challenging to go back and flay particular examples of pundits and Republicans attacking the DHS report on “right wing extremists” that has since been proven right.

But this one, from Joe Scarborough, is particularly funny and worth a look. Check out Scarborough at around the 1:25 mark, yukking it up about the “right wing extremists” report and talking about how DHS chief Janet Napolitano had gone “nuts”:

Scarborough: “This is a funny story this is a laughably — they’re nuts, Janet Napolitano has gone nuts — this is funny.”

Rachel Weiner flags another funny one from the vid: Fox News anchor Andrea Tantatos dismissing the report’s findings as a “made up threat.”

Of course, most of these folks don’t particularly care about having been spectacularly wrong about something as important as this, being adherents of the never-look-back school of punditry. Indeed, what’s interesting is how surprising it is when someone does acknowledge having been wrong. Note how pleasantly surprised everyone was when Fox’s Shep Smith conceded yesterday that the DHS report should have been seen as “a warning to us all.” This simple admission was actually a bit startling.

2. "Made up threat"
Yeah evil liberals spend every fucking hour making up shit about what conservative values do to other human beings. Like kill them.

What is the last good thing that has occurred in our country because of conservative values?

7. They don't consider right-wing terrorists a threat because that is their audience and
that is who THEY really sympathize with too. Whether they share the actual sentiment (which some clearly do) or whether they have no convictions of any kind of their own but realize which side their career bread is buttered on, that's whom they echo. They see nothing wrong with the murdering of anyone who is not part of, and is therefore (to their paranoid and/or self-interested way of thinking) a threat to their constituency. They pretty much consider anyone who gets in their natural constituency's way to be completely expendable, not to mention actually to blame for whatever happens to them.

9. Joe Scarborough is not funny
And at the very least he should "revisit" his attitude about this story. Wasn't so funny after all Joe.

You are the nut bag who just couldn't take it seriously.

10. scarborough is the one who is "nuts" and drunk
with pundit power. I hope some enterprising reporter on tv holds him accountable..I don't think morning joe likes to be held accountable for his actions.

14. A guy who defended a doctor killer in 1993 pro bono is dismissive
about right wing extremists? That's funny, too. But not ha-ha funny.
