Mitt Romney's having an essay contest!
For an entry fee of $50, you can submit a 250 word essay entitled "What does a free and strong America look like to me?"

Nope, not making this shit up. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/11/mitt-romney-announces-ess_n_214394.html

The "winner" gets to visit with Mittens.

1. Fifty dollars?
For that price the winner should get to kick Mittens in the pouches.

10. So he'll pay $50 for someone to write him a valentine? Here's some ideas
to help you win the $50

Dear Gov Mittens

America is strong because of:

1. Magical Mormon Underware
2. Life-like Robotic former Governors
3. Grown men with names usually reserved for kittens
4. Billionaires

14. Good luck with that, Mittens. I don't think your target audience can string 25 words together
coherently, much less 250.

Maybe change it up a bit and have them draw Tippy the Turtle or a pirate?

At least then you'd know which ones have minds dangerously creative enough to imagine YOU as POTUS!

19. Does the winner get to pick the entertainment?
I believe I would enter if (1) I could be assured of winning and (2) I could take Mr. Romney to Centerfolds Boston and The Glass Slipper to discuss historic restoration of Boston's city center...you know, like how can we bring back the Combat Zone? Unlike many other cities of its size and stature, Boston was always kind enough to mark on its maps where the stag district was, so people who didn't want to partake in adult entertainment would know to stay the hell away from there.

20. I can do it in fewer: "Look around you NOW."
Amazing, isn't it? Especially in comparison to the previous EIGHT!!!

BTW Mittens, WHY DIDN'T YOU HAVE THESE ESSAYS ANYTIME DURING THE PAST EIGHT YEARS, HUH?!!!

21. Yay! An essay I can do!
Edited on Sun Jun-14-09 01:37 PM by RFKHumphreyObama
"A free and strong America is one in which Mitt Romney never even comes close to having a chance of winning the presidency and destroying the nation like his Republican predecessors have done. A free and strong America would also be one where the GOP was out of power in every office of every state"

There! I've won!

I thought the whole point of essay contests was to award a prize actually worth having. Meeting Mitt would be my equivalent to getting a tooth extraction with no anaesthestic
