It's not a letter from the Doctor, but it'll do
@ 3:44 pm by Eric Zimmermann

What's a more legitimate excuse for missing school: I have a cold, or I was hanging out with the leader of the free world?

President Obama took a few minutes during his townhall meeting in Wisconsin today to help out a girl who had missed her last day of school to attend his event.

CNN reports:

A young girl named Kennedy attended the town hall with her father, who was called on to ask a question.

Her father, John Corpus, started his query saying he hoped his daughter wouldn't get into trouble for missing the last day of school.

"Do you need me to write a note?" Obama asked.

Clearly assuming that Obama was just kidding, Corpus continued with his question–only to be interrupted by the president.

"No, no, I'm serious. What's your daughter's name?" Obama said, as he started to write a note. "I'm going to write to Kennedy's teacher."

He then walked over to the girl and handed her the note: "To Kennedy's Teacher, Please excuse Kennedy's absence…she's with me. Barack Obama."

:D

4. I'm sure there will be!
It was excellent!

The fact that the President wrote the note while listening to the dad's question was premier multi tasking in exhibition! Loved it! :)

5. Every now and then
he does something that just sets him apart from anyone else that has ever held the office.

We used to be told that shrubbo was the kind of guy you could "have a beer with" although I never got that vibe from the arrogant prick, I'd probably smash the bottle and threaten him with the sharp end.

Obama is able to connect on a personal level with people, ordinary people, in a way I've never seen before. Maybe it's just my personal attraction to his policies after the last 8 years of shit but I really like to see Obama work a crowd.

7. Agreed
His wife is the same. Very thoughtful people both of them and occasionally their little acts of kindness just floor me.

11. he's a daddy and a man who loves children and understands how
a person in his position can influence for the good those around him. there are stories about kids in Europe and the middle east doing volunteer work during their vacation time because Obama thought it was a good thing. :)

12. If I was Kennedy, I wouldn't give the teacher that note.
I'd keep it for myself. Maybe stick it in a plastic baggie and allow her to view it! lol

That sucker could be worth money some day, and it's priceless anyway if you're an Obama supporter.
