Pretty interesting article on fivethirteight.com
http://www.fivethirtyeight.com/2009/06/obama-approval-rating-exceeds-50-in.html

Shows that Obama's approval rating in states where he is over 50% using recent polls would net him 445 EVs. Some good analysis as well. There is a map embedded - check out which states remain red!

Generally less educated states have much more bigots.

20. Understand voting against their interest?
Edited on Sat Jun-13-09 08:18 PM by elleng
That's part of the problem with 'education.' Where its bad, it inures to the benefit of the repugs who take advantage of ignorance. THAT was one of rovers BIG PITCHES: Poor, church going, and poorly educated.

21. According to their assessment of their interests, (race) > (everything)...
Again, there's nothing that's difficult to understand. It's fucking stupid and evil, but it's not difficult to understand.

6. Arizona turning blue?
I sure hope so. Maybe the citizens of Arizona are finally getting tired of the shenanigans of the neo-Libertarians holding the Leg. hostage.

I was remembering election night 2004 and how depressing the red and blue map was back then. What a horrible night.

14. Back to Kaua'i..
I lived there from '92 to '98 and then I came to live in New York without ever having lived here before. I've learned a lot here but next year it will be time to retire back to the Island.

:hi: Clark..thanks for asking:)

16. I will be Island Hopping the next
time for real.. last sojourn I just stayed on Kaua'i and worked but every weekend was like an Hawai'ian vacation.

I think Prez Obama goes to Oahu if I'm not mistaken..that's where he went to Punahou School and lived with his Grandparents and where Toot passed away right before election day.

http://www.govisithawaii.com/2008/12/23/what-obama-does-on-his-oahu-holiday-vacation/

I am planning to be vigilant in checking out when the Obamas are coming back and I would really like to see them in this atmosphere..It means a lot to me that he got 70% of the vote on the Islands where he was born in 1961..two years after Hawai'i was granted StatehoodB-)

So you've been to Kaui'i, I take it? What year and season?
