a health care plan that keeps medicare and medicaid but just adds the uninsured ton it. Is this correct? If so, I don't like this now. I see where the republicans are coming from. I though we were going to scrap medicare/medicaid and replace it with something better. Now it seems we are just trying to add to it.

3. Here is the thing
Medicare and Medicaid actually are the few things that are actually working. They only need to be tweaked and updated for 2009 environment.

The problem the Repugs have with it is that the Insurance Companies have absolutely no say in those programs.

We need to be vigilant about what they are doing because if they make a mistake America's health system (what's left of it) will come apart and we will have more Americans dying from treatable and manageable health care issues.

6. You can rewrite
the part of the medicare drug plan so that the govt can negotiate lower prices for drugs. That would save millions alone. There are a lot of tweaks that could be made but I don't think paying providers lower than they are doing now will work. They are already paying family practice docs next to nothing.

5. It would seem the proper way to do it
is to build on the system we have now, rather than put in a new and "ideal" system that will create chaos. Since medical is now such a large part of GDP do we want it in chaos? Will that help?
