Can you imagine the amped up rhetoric we'd be hearing from McCain and his Hunting Barbie? This measured approach is EXACTLY what I remember from all administrations in my lifetime prior to dim son. Whether it was Bush Sr., Carter, Clinton or others...you usually had foreign policy professionals who carefully calibrated their language so as not to create a worse diplomatic situation.

I am loving the support the Iranian reform protesters are getting from the world over and yet the lack of endorsement they are getting from the U.S. government. This gives Amahe'safraud nothing to really lash out against except his own patriotic young citizens they are now shooting in the streets.

I won't rest until Amadinnerjacket is hanging from a light pole, deader than a middle east peace process during a Bush administration.

1. Oh yeah, PretzelWarrior, there
are so many reasons to be grateful but this is a Big One.

Another MidEast Country to bomb and secure their OIL.

4. But.....
... if McCain were in office, there might not have been so much support for Moussavi .... something to think about.

7. I don't agree. The Iranians have long hated their regime. They overwhelmingly elected
Mohammed Khatami in 1997 and 2001. Whenever given the chance the Iranians pick the candidate who is seen as furthest removed from the ruling power.

The one exception was in 2005 when the people just gave up after 8 years of seeing Khatami's reform efforts blocked by the judiciary. So the reform voters didn't turn out to vote. Also, Amhadinejad's opponent in the final round was Mr. Rafsanjani, the most hated man in Iran, derisively called "Akbar Shah."

After 4 years of Ahmidinejad the Iranians decided they had enough, and went to vote, just to get rid of him. It wasn't that they expected much from Mousavi IMO.

I don't think Obama or the U.S. had anything to do with it.

Steve

9. Better than McCain, yes. But I think Obama is far too "measured"
And in the end, we'll end up bombing Iran before the end of 2010 anyway. That's just the way it goes though.

12. Really I don't think so...
why do you say he is too measured? This is a very sticky situation I would rather he be cautious and play it safe. I think people are having a hard time getting use to his style especially when the Republicans do not even breathe before they start bashing him on his every move or none move.

11. Concur...
I heard gramps made a statement today saying something to the affect that we need to do something, but of course, he did not elaborate what that something was. It is scary just to think of him and his sidekick at the helm. Shutter!
