Yes Revolutionary Road is written by a Socialist Worker, it is however along with just a few of the many twitter and facebook accounts one of the only reliable sources of information coming out of Iran. Almost all of the TV news about what is happening in Iran has been sourced through a small minority of sources. Even the US State Department has been relying on Twitter reports to find out what is going on.

Given that, it is quite amazing that Saeed Valadbaygi is now facing a ban on Facebook.

These are the messages that they have sent him.

Given that even the US State Dept is now relying on Facebook and Twitter updates, I really hope Facebook will not be that stupid.

1. And why are we relying on Facebook and Twitter?

Do you know that the Obama admin shut down MS, Yahoo, Google, Messenger to Iran last month?

2. No idea
But Saeed Valadbaygi's blog remains a key source for news on Iran, direct from the Front line. It stands out for its coverage of events in Iran. The New York Times has said of it, "Revolutionary Road has been bringing constant updates on the Iran Riots from the front lines. We rely on citizens like these to get us news from the ground".

His facebook gallery, simply called Revolt, http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2013870&id=1549278003&ref=nf#/album.php?aid=2013870&id=1549278003&ref=nf combines images that outclass those of the so called Professional Journalists. His artistic flair for his choice of photographs only confirms the sense of horror that the regime in Iran is trying to impose on its citizens.

So as one of the main sources of info - why is Facebook trying to shut him down?

4. I have read the previous comment by Billy Burnett
and recognise that this may go the same way. The importance of getting information out of Iran during these times can not be understated yet far too many still assume the big ugly box in the corner is the bringer of all things News.
