What was the motivation for Bill Burkett? I don't get it.

If this guy was a democrat bush*wacker, what was his motivation to decieve CBS & Rather? Too much just doesn't add up.sd

Rove gave them to someone in the TANG that was credible. He gave them to this guy, who became the fall guy.

The original intention was probably to get the Kerry campaign to release them and then nail them to the wall for forging. CBS ended up being the best they could muster.

he got them from. I think he just dislikes Bush because of the special treatment he got, and the guard screwed him.

8. He only lied about his source, to protect that source.

He honestly believed the memos were real, after all he had seen the originals many years earlier.

Burkett was blinded to the possibility that he was set up, CBS was blinded by the ambition to break a good story.

6. I actually heard someone refer to Buckhead's work

as concise and brilliant on MSRNC today. They dont even question how he was on it like white on rice within minutes. :eyes:

they were just retyped. somewhere along the way i heard a lawyer for burkett talking adn the law. it was said that since the documents where taken away from where they were suppose to be and handed over, in order for him not to be in trouble for from the law he could not hand over the origanls. they had to be a little different here and there. little words shifted. adn it fits with what knox said, they were basically saying what the originals said just typed and changed a little
