Dodd says he's determined to include public option
http://www.modernhealthcare.com/article/20090618/REG/306189971

Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.) stressed the need for a public health option in healthcare reform during a meeting with reporters, claiming “It's the one certain way to drive down costs.” Dodd, who is chairing the committee in absence of Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.), said he would do whatever it takes to get a public option included in the 615-page bill the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee is currently negotiating.

You're running behind schedule here Chris.

Glad he's staying with it.

4. Let's hope that he can hang tough, and that he's talking about a REAL, meaningful public option and
not some watered-down bullshit.

Is Kennedy's health going downhill now? Wonder why he's absent?

7. If Dodd is smart, he'll hitch his wagon to this star and fight hard
He's on a downward trend and is seen as a big corrupt corporatist, so he has literally nothing to lose by making a populist stance. Go for it Chris! You have literally NOTHING to lose and you might come out a big hero!!!!

8. That's nice but I'm not celebrating until I hear some details. We don't
need another fiasco, corporate give away, like Medicare Part D, the prescription drug benefit for the PhRMA industry. It was no benefit to old people.
