7. At least 19 killed. Basiji camped out near embassies, while the natural gas line...
...to their headquarters has been sabotaged and is burning.

Many found sanctuary in some embassies, though not all, so the Basij are reportedly camping out to wait for them to leave.

Another rumor is that they're marking protesters doors so that they can come back later.

I'm hoping we make a small difference, any difference.

8. Based on killed numbers, factor in at least 20 times that as very injured
I fear this week is going to be very bloody. We can only hope that there is a coup of some sort.

The irony of all this is that the Iraq-Iran War had basically an entire generation die on both sides. Perhaps Iran had more die and now there is such a large generation of the young, who always want change. The elderly mullahs who ordered the war and saw an entire generation die now have the reasons for their possible demise at hand because they caused it.

It's nothing new in history... it just shows how the cycles of history are held together by the chains of irony.

10. My God, Moussawi was in charge during that war, played a role in Iran-Contra
and his role in mass executions during the stabilization period of the theocracy was mentioned on this board.
Only few took notice while the majority of DU got deluded in it's Iraqi - oops, Iran-Freedom-frenzy.

The Iranian Youth taking the streets for such a POS may be ironic.
But how an American can come up with a Moussawi avatar is beyond my comprehension.

There is no good side in this. Do you really believe, they will be better of with the capitalistic fringe of the mullah establishment?
And that with some sort of civil war in the meantime?
